If you’ve
ever contacted the Yehwang help desk, you most likely spoke to me (Evi). But
did you know that I’m not only a help desk employee, but also a certified
all-round Fashion & Media stylist?!
We regularly
organize photoshoots when Yehwang’s new clothing, jewelry and accessories are
in. With my background as a stylist I help with the preparations, styling and
assistance of the photographer.
Would
like to know what such days look like? I’m happy to give you a glimpse of our
previous shoot in Arnhem, the Netherlands – from the styling, to the locations
and the results.
You may have
seen some behind the
scenes of this photoshoot on Instagram already: Our bright leopard dress at the
train station, cute sets at the park, cheerful sets at the carnival and fancy
dresses at a restaurant.
Styling
When it
comes to the styling I’ve chosen items that deserve some extra attention now
that the summer is getting closer:
·
Prints,
bright colors, beachy jewelry and our new collection with summer dresses and skirts
·
Our
best sellers, such as our surf necklaces, our favorite pastel skirts with dots (You Are Gold),
shell jewelry and cool stud belts and stud bags (like Studs All U Need).
·
Items
of which many customers requested styling pictures. For some items it’s
difficult to get an idea of what it looks like when you wear it based on a product
photo.
Items that require styling photos, for example, were necklace Picture Perfect (a necklace with space for your photos!), jumpsuit Leap Forward in army green and the ochre colored pants Show Me Off. I think we’ve succeeded in showing some great styling ideas, don’t you?
My favorite
set
One of
the sets that I’m very happy with is the neon pink biker shorts. Earlier we
wrote about the neon trend that’s in all trend stores right now! Biker shorts +
neon colors is the best combination! They give a cheerful, playful look and can
be styled with any item. Besides that, they are very comfortable!
For this
shoot I combined our short Run Away with the plain sweater Funky Style, a waistbelt with a neon snake print, large earrings and our popular necklaces from the
surf collection (and an XL cotton candy)!
Locations:
The week
of the shoot was a week full of rain, but luckily the day of the shoot was a day
of full sun shine!
Location
1: Arnhem Central Station
If you’ve
ever been here you’ll know this location looks super cool with its large
windows and abstract shapes! We’ve chosen two different sets for this location:
A casual outfit with the cool army green jumpsuit Leap Forward, combined with a
t-shirt (Fauvism) and a neon orange belt. And outfit 2: our striking red leopard dress
with a leopard belt chain and shell earrings.
Have you
seen on Instagram? The station staff also wanted to take a picture with our
model Nashara! Yehwang has gained 2 fans! :)
Locatie
2: Sonsbeek park
What a beautiful
park! We went to beautiful locations, such as a large waterfall and we fotographed
the ocher yellow pants on a swan bridge overlooking a nice fountain.
And here
another fan visited us: a cute little duck!
Location
3: The carnival
Fun,
colorful and playful: That’s the atmosphere we’re going for at this location: a
cheerful crop top matched with our green high waist flared pants, the neon sweater
Lost In Time and a cool pair of pants with a blocked pattern and (here’s my
favorite again: ) the pink bikers shorts!
We had a
blast shooting these fun sets!
Location
4: La Rocca
At the
end of the afternoon we went to a restaurant next to the carnival to shoot some
new dresses. We have many summer wrap dresses in our assortment with various
nice prints that would do well in any store and therefore couldn’t be missed
from this photoshoot!
For this shoot I chose our bestseller with a snake print
and a casual solid black dress with ruffles, styled with a chain belt and large
round earrings.
My
tips for styling your photo shoot:
1: Dare. Dare to combine prints and go for eye-catching and colorful items.
2:
Ensure that the outfits and the location are perfectly matched.
It can
be nice to have the outfit match the location. Our colorful, cheerful and
playful sets, for example, are perfect at the carnival. Our red maxi dress
Summer Queen has a chic look with its low back that looks great in a fancy bar
and the blue jumpsuit Happy Stripe gets a nice natural look with the waterfall
in the background.
But you
can also create a great effect with a contrast! Think of our bright red leopard
dress against the gray background of the station. Or a bright yellow dress in a
green park!
